Our Campers
We enroll a wide age range of campers into a variety of units and programs. Pre-K and K make up our PeeWees, 1 & 2 Grade our Junior Camp, 3 & 4 our Middle Camp, and 5 & up our Senior Camp.

Camp Days and Hours
The 2016 camp season opens on July 5 and runs until August 26. We work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Attendance and punctuality throughout the camp season are mandatory. Staff salaries are paid three times, at the end of the 3rd, 5th & 8th weeks of camp. Employment with Pac Camps is seasonal and terminates as of the end of the camp season. Staff are required to attend two orientation weekends in June. Dates and times TBA.

Job Qualifications

Applicants must be enthusiastic, creative, industrious, responsible, punctual, and resourceful and have a genuine love for children.

All applicants must be in good health and will be required to undergo a physical examination before coming to work. The camp will provide a medical form to be completed by the applicant’s physician and submitted to the camp office prior to June 15.

Those under the age of 18 will need working papers, which they will have to arrange for by their public school, or in the case of a private school student, by the Board of Education office at 475 State Street (3rd Avenue).

Counselors and Specialists must be a minimum of 18 years of age and already attending college.

Assistant/Junior Counselors must be 17 years old.

Assistant/Junior Counselor Job Description

  • Assists in leading group through day’s schedule.
  • Assists in assuring the safety of campers at all times.
  • Participates in all activities with their groups, making camp fun for their campers, teaching skills, providing encouragement and support, etc.
  • Serves as a role model to young children by demonstrating high standards of personal conduct.
  • Assists with planning of activities.
  • Is willing and able to assume responsibility of counselor in event of absence.
  • Is flexible and realizes that needs of campers are foremost.
    Assists with daily attendance.
  • Provides camp with all items necessary for employee file.
  • Is attentive and follows all administrative notices defining camp procedures and routines

Counselor Job Description

  • Assists in directing group of 16 children in a manner that promotes safe behaviors and improves the quality of the children’s interaction with one another.
  • Participates in all activities with their groups, making camp fun for their campers, teaching skills, providing encouragement and support, etc.
  • Serves as a role model to young children by demonstrating high standards of personal conduct.
  • Guides junior staff assigned to group.
  • Responsible for campers’ safety on bus, on a trip, or at any activity.
  • Reports any accident to proper camp personnel.
  • Is attentive to and follows administrative notices defining camp procedures and routines.
